Slippery Rock Borough is hereby requesting proposals for construction of a front porch at the Slippery Rock Borough Building at 306 East Water Street, Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania. The porch must be ADA compliant and all work must conform to industry standards for commercial buildings. All work will be inspected throughout the process by a representative of the Borough. There is no 811 Call needed for this project. Though this is a Request for Proposals, the words “bid”, and “proposal” are used interchangeably throughout this document and use of one over another shall not affect the character of the document and chosen competitive process.
Slippery Rock Borough requires building permits to be obtained for this project, which is the responsibility of the contractor, however this can be negotiated with the Borough with a deduct change order. The intent of the Slippery Rock Borough is to have constructed a front porch which is ADA compliant and built to industry standards for commercial buildings on the Slippery Rock Borough Building at 330 East Water Street. The porch is to be constructed of 6×6 treated posts set into the ground to industry standards, 2×12 treated framing minimum. The size of the porch will be approximately 28 feet long and 9 feet wide with an ADA ramp attached to the right side when standing in front of the building. The porch will have composite decking with vinyl railing. The porch will have a water management system built-in meaning that it will be completely enveloped. One set of ADA stairs will be attached in front on the right-hand door of the Borough Building. Demolition of the current structure will be completed by the Borough prior to the start of the project. A pre-bid meeting will be scheduled to take place on July 28th, 2020 at 10:00 am at the Slippery Rock Borough Building at 330 East Water Street. Attendance at the pre-bid meeting is a requirement to meet bidding specifications. Color selections will be decided by Shawn Pugh at the pre-bid meeting.
