Slippery Rock Borough is pleased to announce that it has received an Automated Red Light Enforcement (ARLE) Funding Program Grant through Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. The Borough will receive $167,260.00 to upgrade the existing traffic signal at the intersection of South Main Street and Keister Road by installing 12” signal heads with LED pedestrian countdown signals and facilities that are ADA accessible as well as pre-emption.
Along with the ARLE Grant, the Borough has combined its Southwestern PA Commission Regional Traffic Signal Program (SINC-UP) Signal Intervention Method funding of $215,000.00 to synchronize the traffic signals at Keister, Main and Grove City Roads.These projects and the grant funding for them are results of Borough Council's Transportation Mater Plan adopted in 2013.
