Have you a vision of what our community could or should look like five years from now? Are you seeing a full array of shops on Main and Franklin Streets? Do you see the new fire station at Elm and New Castle? Does your view have tidy, painted storefronts with inviting displays so that they attract visitors and customers? Do you see safe parking along Main street and ample parking at Gateway Park? Do you envision families having snacks or ice cream at the gazebo, or couples taking wedding photos under the shade of that same gazebo? Are those streets clean and lined with floral displays and the light poles undamaged and actually in place? Do we have a turn lane both on N. Main onto Franklin or one from New Castle onto S. Main? Are our police walking the streets, greeting passersby? Is there a sidewalk from the elementary school to the new library? Is the Borough repairing the roads on its endless list of repairs? Have you found a space for young people to gather for fun and music? Have you seen more single family homes appearing? Are our student guests safe within our boundaries? Are the residents happy to be living in a community that takes pride in its existence and happy to brag about where they live? These are only a few of the thoughts that your Borough Council deals with, plans for and hopes to accomplish with the support and help of all of our community.
