Dear Friend of Slippery Rock,
You may have noticed a lot of activity around the old waterfall on the corner of Elm and New Castle Street. We are hard at work making this gateway to our community better.
It’s hard to believe that this was built almost 20 years ago. The old structure has been removed and a rock fountain is under construction. (Yes, the water is a little mucky looking right now but it will be clear eventually once it has run for a while). We have raised enough money to tear down the old waterfall and install the fountain. Plantings, benches and lighting are still on the way. However we are short of funds to finish the project with the additional landscaping needed. We are $5,000 away from making it even more attractive to our residents and visitors. After all, visitors are the lifeblood of our economy. The more attractive our community is the more people will want to eat, shop, live or maybe go to school here.
$5, $10, $20 or more; it all adds up to reach our goal to raise an additional $5,000.
