Slippery Rock Borough is preparing a plan for the future!
It is called a comprehensive plan. It will address a variety of subjects – community character, business development, public facilities, housing, and quality of life. The plan will create a 5-10 year vision for the community. It will propose solutions to problems and ways to seize opportunities to improve the community.
Work ramped up in July and will continue to early 2024.
- There will be two public input events: the first September 13 to discuss community hopes and goals, and to identify priority problems, needs, and opportunities; the second later in the year to discuss ideas for solutions and community improvements.
- The borough will seek help from community organizations and from agencies with expertise in matters identified as priorities.
Work is being led by a planning work group made up of borough officials (staff, planning commission, and council members), community volunteers, and a planning consultant. The borough planning commission has the responsibility to approve a draft plan once completed and present it to borough council. Borough council has the final authority to adopt the plan.
