December has arrived and in three short weeks we’ll be moving away from the shortest days of the year back to the days of more and more daylight. Now its dark when the students await their high school buses and dark before families return home in the early evening. Please be aware that runners and bikers are on the roads at those times and and can be difficult to see. Our many holiday lights help keep the neighborhoods bright throughout the season. Events in our history: February 1, 1889 Slippery Rock Normal School building was dedicated; February 19, 2005 North Country Brewing Company opens. On March 3, 1910 Grange #1441 organized; March 9, 1841 the Borough of Centerville Incorporated and on March 11, 1824 COuter’s Mill on Slippery Rock Creek burned.
